Curious about how we get paid?

Agents get paid a commission of the total selling price of the home, in Manitoba this commission can vary, yet 4-5% is common. In most cases, the seller and the agent negotiate a commission to be paid once the home is sold. This agent will split the commission with an agent who brings a buyer. So, in summary, as a buyer it will cost you nothing to work with a Realtor, as it is the seller who pays both fees. However, in some uncommon cases should a buyer purchase a home privately, the Realtor may require payment for their services. These are things we will discuss when we first meet, but price is always negotiable. Here is an example of how everyone gets paid in an average transaction.
